Iceland’s longest peninsula with incredible geological formations, extinct volcanoes and craters, waterfalls, villages, an amazing coastline and incredible geological formations and lakes. Duration 8-10 hours.
Departure from Reykjavik in the morning at your preferred time.
We drive from Reykjavik heading north through the small town of Borgarnes and then along the south coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula to Snæfellsjökull National Park with a drive around the Snæfellsjökull glacier, the setting for Jules Verne´s classic Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and then along the north coast to the beautiful village of Stykkishólmur before returning to Reykjavik.
Possible stops are in the villages of Borgarnes, Búðir, Arnarstapi, Hellnar, Djúpalónssandur, the Visitor Centre at Hellissandur, Arrowhead Mountain (Game of Thrones) and Stykkishólmur, before returning to Reykjavik. Lunch stop is at your preferred place on the way, as are stops for coffee, shopping, photos and stretching.
