Húsafell, Langjökull glacier ice cave and back via the mountain road and barren wasteland of Kaldidalur to Thingvellir. Incredible geological and glacier formations. Open June 1 to September 30.
Departure from Reykjavik in the morning not later than 9am. driving west to the Borgarfjörður region with a coffee stop on the way and stops at the beautiful waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss.
Then we head on to Húsafell and a possible lunch stop and then the journey takes you on an an optional Into-the-glacier ice cave tour, a guided tour in a monster truck to the entrance of the Langjökull Ice Cave. The man-made glacier tunnel in Langjökull glacier is the largest of its kind in the world, where you can explore the second-largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull, from the inside. We’ll explore the tunnels for one hour, stopping at the built-in chapel.
From there we carry on across the barren wastelands of Kaldidalur, Cold Valley, on road F550 with photo stops and stretches on the way, all the way down to Thingvellir National Park where, depending on the timing, we can stop for coffee, photos or exploration of some of the most beautiful vistas we have in Iceland. From there it is straight back to Reykjavik.

The Into-the-Glacier tour is not included in the price as it is optional. The price of that tour, including the drive in a monster truck on to the glacier, is 24,900 ISK or approx. 165 EUR.
